little letters

it's been a while since i've done these.
and there are a lot of things i'd like to say to a lot of things.
(does that even make sense?!)

dear sunshine,
thanks for making an appearance these last couple days.
i hope you last a few more so that softball this weekend isn't too miserably cold.
i only wish i wasn't working 40+ hours a week so that i could enjoy your vitamins and nutrition.
i'll take what i can get.

dear wqc and other friends,
thanks for being so weird that i feel comfortable around you.
thanks also for being laid back enough to welcome random stop bys from me.
makes me like you even more.
and the conversation is AWESOME.

dear adidas trainers,
for 30 bucks from costco, you boys aren't bad.
i enjoyed briefly running in you last night.
you're light weight and cute.
totally functional for a lazy day, not just for running.
thanks.

dear summertime,
you can make your debut for 2011 now.
i sure am ready to watch hours upon hours of softball and to have my friends more readily available to me.
i'm also ready for being outdoors until 11 at night.

dear jdawgs,
thanks for always tasting awesome.

dear provo land,
thanks for throwing an open house/opening weekend party with jdawgs and ice cream.
you gave me a break from work, provided me lunch and a reason to enjoy the warmth/sunshine.

dear mother,
thanks for birthing brianna this day 22 years ago.
she sure is a joy.
i like having an almost-twin.

love, me

little letters

dear "your ex-lover is dead"
thanks for being my fall back song whenever i need to remember something.
you, accompanied by ryan and ellenore dancing, are beautiful.
my favorite line(s)?
"there's one thing i want to say so i'll  be brave, you were what i wanted, i gave what i gave. i'm not sorry i met you, i'm not sorry it's over, i'm not sorry, there's nothing to say"
this line holds true now and probably forever.
thanks for reminding me that i shouldn't have regrets. ever.
that everything happens for a reason.

dear job,
i currently dislike you.
despite the fact that i'll be making more in the next weeks, i sure am bored.
and feel pretty useless (hence the reason i'm blogging instead of working)
i hope our relationship returns to normal soon.

dear friends,
you're the best.
thanks for being awesome. and funny. and fun.
i sure am excited to spend the weekend with all of you: girls night, soccer game, cinderella, salsa dancing.
it's sure looking to be a good weekend. which i'm in desperate need of.

dear weekend,
can you be longer? i need some sleep. and some time to relax.
and time to write my talk for sunday. an extra day or two would be great, thanks.

dear winter,
please leave? i enjoy your snow, but i'm over being cold all the time, i'd really like to wear cute skirts/dresses/shorts without worrying about freezing off my extremitites.
although, if you provided me a boy to cuddle with, i think we could reconcile our differences.
think about it.

dear "spot"
thanks for still being there, with not much changed in the 2+ years since i last visited you.
you open up conversation and allow me to reflect on life.
thanks for being one of the only places in provo that doesn't remind me of he-who-must-not-be-named because i never took him there. i appreciate that. since he's part of every other part of provo.

little letters

{*gasp!* two posts in one day! surprise!}

dear watermelon now & laters,
i forgot how GOOD you are.
thanks for reminding me.

dear grooveshark,
you're kinda cool.
i like that i can listen to songs i want to purchase on itunes without paying for anything.
however, i don't like that i have to search for songs to add to a playlist.
i get distracted. and bored.
we'll work on it.

dear provo,
i'm coming to you with open arms in...23 days.
needless to say, i'm stoked.
people don't really understand, but that's okay. they don't need to.
eventually they will realize why i am going back.
so long as you don't fail me in the dating department.
do me proud.

dear sytycd performers,
your dances keep me entertained.
and remind me why i dance.
and encourage (or discourage) me to continue.
i also love that lofro posts backstage footage.
i want to be friends with you.
perhaps if i see you nov 4th in salt lake?
k.deal.

dear summer,
i'm glad you decided to come back and grace us (once again) with your presence.
i was starting to think that i wouldn't get a real summer.
however, it's a little much.
i'm ready for fall.
sorry.

dear fall/football season,
you're just around the corner, i can smell you.
again, i'm stoked beyond reason.
favorite season.
be good to me.

dear future ec (or, instead of getting ahead of myself, future bf),
i'd like if you would be willing to watch: chick flicks, sytycd reruns, musicals (as well as know all the words to all of the songs), glee, and community with me.
also, i'd like if when i randomly say, i want ____ and/or ____ (with or without seriousness) that you'd run out and get it for me.
i also want to be able to giggle endlessly for hours on end with our faces close together.
to talk about absolutely nothing for numberless minutes, hours yet still feel completely fulfilled.
to fit perfectly in your arms, at the "perfect height".
i'd like if we said random things to each other that no one else understands.
to have a cool story to tell later on about how we met.
if you could be waiting for me in provo in...23 days, yeah, that'd be great.

love, me

little letters.

dear life,
thank you for bringing me nice surprises, showing me that things can be and eventually WILL be back to normal.
thank you also for showing me that as much as things change, it can still be ok.

dear sunshine,
i welcome you with open arms.
your rays embraced my body last week as i studied for the LSAT and made the days much more bearable.
i plan to take more advantage of you this week and next.

dear target,
you are going to be the death of my bank account.
but i do love you so.

dear e.l.f.
your makeup products are exactly what an underpaid post graduate needs in this life.
target, thanks for bringing it back to me here in CA.

dear facebook,
though at times you frustrate me, your ability to inform me of my friends' day to day activities is quite appreciated.
you also bring people back together.

love, me

dear LSAT/Law School

this is how i feel about you...

I'm not your biggest fan.
It's not because I don't think I can take your little test, but it's because I despise studying.
I could be doing much better things than studying and practicing.
Also, you cost a lot of money.
Money that I want to save/need to save for:
credit card bills
loans
moving/apartments
vacations.
Law School, why do you have to be so stressful.
Every other day I think "oh I've got this. I can totally handle this."
And then reality sets in and I panic and decide, I can't do this anymore.

If I didn't have to take a test to prove my intelligence and capability of handling the rigors of law school, then I wouldn't. But unfortunately, life isn't quite so simple.
So until then, I will gripe and complain and make excuses, but I will study, I will pass your little exam and I will prove to everyone that I am smart enough and that I have the potential to do great things.
Also, I will prove that I am going somewhere with my life, that I don't have to live at home for the rest of all time.
But really, try not to take it so hard, LSAT...I think we could be good for each other. I just need a little more patience and you need to be a little nicer.

Love,

little letters

dear snowboard mix,

oh how i've missed you! i just wish i had some fresh pow to go with you. thank you for reminding me of good times and lifting my spirits after an awful start to the week, and for getting me through the headache that is the moorpark parking lot after class.

dear feet,
I'm sorry I've abused you lately. I promise I'll fix things soon.

dear sunshine,
thank you for gracing us with your presence once again. As much as I enjoyed the rain, I sure did miss your glow and the beautiful blue skies that you bring with it.

dear moorpark college parking lot,
can you not be so packed right after class? k great thanks.

dear friends,
you are wonderful. you know and understand my needs and are EXACTLY what i need in bad times. ice cream and phone calls are perfect. this is what friendship is about.

dear car,
i'm sorry i use you so much. you really deserve better. i promise i'll ration your gas more (and possibly save money too?)

dear blog,
i'm sorry i've neglected you lately. there's not much to report on, but I promise to be better and update you more. and, to use pictures.

love, me
