wait, that's not right? different day, isn't it?
well, no matter.
this day, May 1, 2011 is one that will go down in history.
and one that i'll look back on and be able to tell my: kids, grandkids, etc, where i was when i heard the news: osama bin laden was dead.
it's like 9/11. i can remember clearly: where i was. what i was doing. what went through my mind as i heard the news.
it'll be like other important dates in my life thus far: the day that princess diana died. the day that prince william married a commoner, kate middleton (yes, i consider this a big deal. it's the politician in me coming out. okay, okay, and the hopeless romantic). hurricane katrina.
others that the future generations will only get to read about in their history books. now i know how my grandparents felt about WWII. or about man reaching the moon. or about the assassination of john f kennedy. or the assassination of martin luther king.
i only read about those things. they witnessed it through newspapers, radio and later on, the television.
it's cool to think that there are historical things happening all the time, and i get to live through some of them. later on i can teach people about those moments and what it meant to me.
