what would you dooooo....

...for a Choco Taco?

(you thought I was going to say Klondike Bar, didn't you?)
oh, the question of the night.
And the answer?
Well, let me explain.

Scene:
RB, Wednesday night, pre-dodgeball game.
Abby walks into the court with a Choco Taco.
Kayla wants one.
Grabs her cash and walks down the hall to the vending machines.
Inserts cash into machine.
As soon as money enters, thinks to herself "that ice cream is going to get stuck"
Proceeds to enter code for said Choco Taco.
Machine begins to deposit ice cream.
It gets to the end of its rotation.
And stops.
The ice cream is stuck.
Kayla pounds on the glass, like a scene out of a movie (or daytime television drama)
She begins to shake it, laughing at her luck.
Then she gets frustrated.
And sad.
All she wanted was an ice cream.
But not any ice cream, a Choco Taco.
She admits defeat and walks back to the gym to her waiting friends, to tell them her sad tale.
They all jump at the chance to help her retrieve her precious ice cream.
One friend is broken, but she runs down the hall anyway, along with 2 others who are strong and ready to shake the monster that is the vending machine, holding her Choco Taco hostage.
The girls begin to shake, all together now, count of three, and begin to make process, moving the vending machine from it's stationary position, bringing it to life, loosening the captured Choco Taco.
They readjust.
They shake. And shake. And finally. Success!
But wait! The vending machine is not ready to let the girls win so easily.
Alas, he has kept it's normally gaping mouth shut, disabling the girls from retrieving the Choco Taco from its frozen state.
They feel all is lost.
But then, one realizes that in order to retrieve the taco, another purchase must be made, a cheaper one, to allow the machine to open its mouth and let loose its contents.
Money is found. A purchase is made.
The girls hold their breath as the ice cream sandwich falls from its row, afraid that it too will become stuck and then all hope really will be lost.
Thankfully, it makes it through safely, releasing the Choco Taco and itself, from the evil grasps of the vending machine.

Happy ending? Yes.
Worth it? Maybe not 2 bucks worth it, but story worth it? Definitely.
