what would you dooooo....

...for a Choco Taco?

(you thought I was going to say Klondike Bar, didn't you?)
oh, the question of the night.
And the answer?
Well, let me explain.

Scene:
RB, Wednesday night, pre-dodgeball game.
Abby walks into the court with a Choco Taco.
Kayla wants one.
Grabs her cash and walks down the hall to the vending machines.
Inserts cash into machine.
As soon as money enters, thinks to herself "that ice cream is going to get stuck"
Proceeds to enter code for said Choco Taco.
Machine begins to deposit ice cream.
It gets to the end of its rotation.
And stops.
The ice cream is stuck.
Kayla pounds on the glass, like a scene out of a movie (or daytime television drama)
She begins to shake it, laughing at her luck.
Then she gets frustrated.
And sad.
All she wanted was an ice cream.
But not any ice cream, a Choco Taco.
She admits defeat and walks back to the gym to her waiting friends, to tell them her sad tale.
They all jump at the chance to help her retrieve her precious ice cream.
One friend is broken, but she runs down the hall anyway, along with 2 others who are strong and ready to shake the monster that is the vending machine, holding her Choco Taco hostage.
The girls begin to shake, all together now, count of three, and begin to make process, moving the vending machine from it's stationary position, bringing it to life, loosening the captured Choco Taco.
They readjust.
They shake. And shake. And finally. Success!
But wait! The vending machine is not ready to let the girls win so easily.
Alas, he has kept it's normally gaping mouth shut, disabling the girls from retrieving the Choco Taco from its frozen state.
They feel all is lost.
But then, one realizes that in order to retrieve the taco, another purchase must be made, a cheaper one, to allow the machine to open its mouth and let loose its contents.
Money is found. A purchase is made.
The girls hold their breath as the ice cream sandwich falls from its row, afraid that it too will become stuck and then all hope really will be lost.
Thankfully, it makes it through safely, releasing the Choco Taco and itself, from the evil grasps of the vending machine.

Happy ending? Yes.
Worth it? Maybe not 2 bucks worth it, but story worth it? Definitely.

Groundhog Day

February is already starting out GREAT. (although it's only the second day, so I guess I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch...)
Last night was a success: pulled pork dinner pre-institute (which i didn't end up going to: institute, not the pork dinner), Just Dance 2 (always a good time, even if it's just for a short while), boys basketball game (which they DOMINATED, and lost a player to ejection...now THAT'S my kind of game), talking and laughing at sunshine (typical), freezing in the 2 degree weather, and the subsequently going to the malt shoppe for ice cream. 7 of us crammed in corb's explorer: corbin and brittany in front, anna and kenady in the middle, nate caitlin and i cuddling in the back. good conversations and lack of awkwardness always makes things better, as well. :)
and tonight is just going to get better: birthday shopping for bryce-man. institute (i'm really going tonight...) water polo game, dodgeball game. and somewhere in between all of that: crepes. and possibly watching groundhog day.
and i found out i'm getting a "promotion" of sorts: i'll get off orders desk and start searching, which means a pay upgrade which i'm in need of. and i won't be the middle man for EVERYTHING finally. that was the biggest headache ever. and we're also talking about getting health insurance, YAY! now i can go out and play and not worry (too much, at least) about getting hurt.
Things are looking up :)

{post-edit: i didn't end up making it to institute, crepes took priority at 6:30. don't worry, everyone gave me crap for it. i felt bad enough as it was. luckily they're all good sports. and luckily i'm not letting myself get offended or down on myself too much these days}

Febrero

How is it already February?
Wasn't it just New Years' like, last week?
Ohhhh boy, how this year is going to fly by.
Luckily, life is grand thus far.
I might be hating on my job a little right now, but only because I feel like I'm doing EVERYTHING. It's a little stressful.
I'm not exercising as regularly as I had hoped, but that's alright. I'm eating healthier. So that balances it out, right?
There has been little to no drama, which i LOVE.
and really, my life is good. i have nothing to complain about. And I realized that the other day when Andrew asked me if I would tell him if something was wrong. I might not be rolling in the dough, and I might be tired from working two jobs, but I'm healthy, I have friends, I have two jobs, and I'm managing well enough that I don't need to have break downs. Now that is something to be grateful for.

{an aside, yesterday Caitlin told me that I am the "number one fan for EVERY sport" (and yes that is a direct quote). (and she also told me i could blog about that. so here i am) i told anna though that it's true, i DO love sports and it really doesn't matter if it's professional, college or complete amateurs, i love the adrenaline. but it's also about me loving my friends and wanting to support them, so i try to make the effort and be there for them, even if they could care less about having fans in the stands.
which brings me to another point, this weekend, Brad told me that he realized that i'm not a flaky friend. cool. double points for kayla! i told him that i don't like when people flake on me, so why would i do that to someone else? if i make plans with someone, or promises, i intend to try my hardest to keep them. simple, right?}
