i don't really know what to say except for this: october has only just begun and already it's beginning to knock my socks off.
first, it's my favorite month of the year (and i'm not being facetious about this guys. you know my deal about favorites. october really is my favorite)
it's the real start to my favorite season of the year.
anddddd, it's the month of my birth.
all good things, right?
right.
add on top of that: the first day of the month was the first day of general conference and i was lucky enough to go to the morning session where President Monson announced several new temples (all of which were exciting in and of themselves) but the most exciting of them all was the announcement that the provo tabernacle, which i hold near and dear to my heart after being a provo resident for 5 years, is being rebuilt. and not only that, but that it is going to be converted into a SECOND temple in provo. seriously?! i cried. really, i did. i was shocked and pleased at the first part of the announcement, and overcome with emotion at the second. i couldn't control it. it was such a testimony to my soul. (and the paris temple announcement also warmed my soul)
not only did i get to go to the first session, but i also got tickets to the second saturday session, which was just as fantastic.
then, i learned that not only did USC win their football game, but that UTAH had lost theirs...against washington, and are now currently 0-2 in the newly formed Pac-12 (take that Utes!)
sunday, the second day of the month was the last day of conference, which i was able to enjoy from the comforts of my bed. oh the joys of church in pajamas.
then, family din din with kiks, youtube videos, kid history, and the greatest discovery of the weekend: tower of terror in full, online. we surely did enjoy that.
and tonight? cool weather, sweaters, boots, scarves and a corn maze with my ward.
if the rest of the month follows the example of the first three days, then i've got pretty high hopes for an awesome october.
oh, and did i mention that there are 20 days until my birthday? well, there are (19 if you're reading this tomorrow, Tuesday)
and i'm starting to think that 24 is going to be my best year yet! (since 23 was just so completely awful...but i'll reflect on my 23rd year in the next few weeks...)
I for one am looking forward to being 24 because Blink 182 was so right.
