i'm not a fan of running.
i'm not sure how i survived freshman year of high school being a member of the cross country team. i reall don't know how i got through it.
unfortunately, it's the only thing i know of that gets me back into shape (besides dance, but that really only makes me lose weight, not tone down and i don't have a place to do that anymore, at least not at the level i was at before graduation)
i have this free three month pass to 24 that needs to be used before august, and the gym is down the street from my office, so i very well could use it, but i don't like gyms, i feel like i'm being judged there.
and the only thing i would use would be the treadmill, and that's boring, especially when i live across the street from BYU's track.
so rather than take the time to go over to 24 last week and start my gym membership, i went running on the track.
i haven't done that since last semester, i would guess. and even then i ran about 3/4 of it and walked the last 1/4 (i was out of shape. i still am, but it was worse then)
thursday, i went running. my goal was to do at least a full mile, all running, no stops.
i did it. and in about 7:30 too. not bad for not having run a full mile in a LOOOOONG time.
so now i've gotta build up motivation to keep going at least a couple days a week, and to build up my endurance again. long distant endurance. because sprinting in soccer is completely different.
hopefully by posting in my blog i'll be more responsible and actually follow through with something in my life.
then again, maybe not, but here's to hoping.
(although the sight of my shapeless body in the mirror and the idea that bathing suit season is just around the corner might motivate me to actually do something about it this time around)
i hate running as well. but just as you said, its really the only thing that helps me lose weight. egh.
