yesterday i turned in my keys to my first big girl apartment. i can't believe that a year ago today i signed a lease on my own apartment, and that i made it through a year in salt lake. so many things have changed, so many things have happened: positive and negative.
i definitely think i've grown, a lot. (though at almost 25, i still don't feel old enough to have all the responsibilities that i do, guess that's to be expected, right?) but i know that there is still so much for me to learn and experience.
it's fantastic looking back on life and understanding why you are in certain places, what leads you to which path and why. things seriously work out so perfectly. and in exactly the times that they're supposed to.
though i don't think i know salt lake enough yet, i know i've got plenty of time to acquaint myself with the city. and at least i'm more knowledgeable than i was a year ago, when i knew no one, and had no idea where the local grocery store was (400 E 400 S), or where the best street tacos were (700 S and State), where the Pie Pizzeria was, or even where i could go to enjoy some sunshine and people watching (there are parks EVERYWHERE--hard to believe, but it's true).
i'm loving this city more and more, and can't wait to see what else is in store for me!
so here's to new (ish) beginnings: to living with roommates again, to a new townhouse, to a new year in salt lake!

in other news, my activities calling has been merged with, you guessed it, FHE. i'm pretty sure i've been attending FHE for the past year, so i'm not quite sure WHY i need this calling, but i'll accept it nonetheless and hopefully i won't die (to quote Scotty: "your calling just got way busier"....yes, yes it did) though, with Josh working full time and going to school full time (18 credits anyone??) i guess having a busier calling isn't quite so daunting, i'll have a bit more "free" time to plan things. (doesn't make it better in the slightest, but hey, whatever, right?)
