today started off rough: i forgot a pool towel for after work, so instead of leaving my car in my spot downstairs and going back upstairs, i decided to pull out and park on the street in front of my building so i could quickly run upstairs, grab it, and not have to drive around my street 3 times. it would be my luck that the one time i parked in the yellow freight zone and was gone 2.5 minutes that a parking enforcement officer would be taking my car's info in order to write me a ticket! i shouted out my indignation as i walked towards my car, and as i started protesting it, he asked, "oh, is this your car?" no officer, i'm just complaining that you're ticketing someone else's car! of course it's mine! so that's when i said, i never park here, but i needed to run upstairs and was gone for 2 minutes, i'm already late to work (and on the verge of tears). He said, you really can't do this, it's a hefty fine, blah, blah, blah. Yes, I know, I really never park here. Luckily he let me off with a warning. (BTW, i've never talked my way out of a ticket before) but that surely did not set the tone for the rest of the day.
i'm a bit frazzled, and have been for a couple weeks, since my co-worker left to have a baby (who DOES that?!) and now i've not only got my own responsibilities, but hers as well. it's not too bad, i'm busy, which makes the days go by faster, but when i get a pile of things to do and a shorter amount of time to do it, plus an added sense of pressure on my shoulders, it gets a little rough.
not to mention when i have to deal with staff that can't seem to manage things on their own and i have to micro-manage, or cover up their mistakes. that REALLY frustrates me. and unfortunately, it comes out when i'm around my friends, and i act bossy, and not so nice. so apologies to all who have had to deal with that of late. i'm hoping i can use this weekend to relax and get my mind back into a calmer place.
i've also got pictures to post and events to blog about. don't expect it any time soon, but know that once my mind isn't so cray cray and my house doesn't look like a tornado's blown through it, i'll be back to blogging about summer and the things i've been able to cross off my summer-to-do list.
