pardon the vanity...

but sometimes you've just gotta remind yourself that you're awesome. it's easy to get down on yourself when everything around you seems to be falling apart, and there are very few people near by to remind you of how great you actually are (and hearing that from parents doesn't count: they will always tell you you're smart/wonderful/beautiful, etc; though it is nice to hear it) so here is my self-absorbedness for the year (or maybe just the month....i may need this again further down the line):

and if you feel the need, say these to yourself as if i'm saying them to you, because it's most likely true that you are also all of these things

you are smart
you are accomplished
you are stronger than people think
you are independent
you are beautiful
you are capable of handling any of life's trials
you are worthwhile
you are a leader
you can command a room
you have people that love you and care about you

but most importantly, the Lord loves you and cares about you

with all the crap around me, sometimes i wonder what my worth is. i can go into specifics, make a list of why i'm awesome, why guys should date me, but i don't want to make it easy for them. (and no, this post isn't because of some guy, at least not completely) i want a guy to figure out why i'm awesome all on his own. and if he can't figure it out, then he doesn't deserve me. (and this goes out to all the other women reading this: if a guy doesn't realize that he has a __________, ______________, _____________ girl in front of him (fill in the blanks with your own {positive} adjectives) then he doesn't deserve you.

remember your worth. remember that you are held in the highest esteem in the eyes of our Savior and Heavenly Father. you are precious to them, and they want you and I to have the best lives possible. so let's clean out our closets (figuratively, of course, unless you literally need to clean it out), and get rid of the things that bring us, and our self-worth, down. if you're LDS, recite the YW motto to yourself to remind you what that means. :)
