okay, okay, i wouldn't go so far as to say it's been a rollercoaster of emotions (that's my exaggerating side coming out) but it has been pretty rockin'.
ups:
- pay.day. always a fave, but today was especially great because it was my first paycheck with my RAISE! woot woot! i love raises :) (i was also completely BROKE so it's nice to have a little money in the bank)
- today is the start to BIRTHDAY WEEK! (let's be honest, i don't actually celebrate my birthday for a whole week. in fact, i barely celebrate it for a day, but i liked the sound of a birthday week, especially since my birthday is falling on a sunday this year, so i decided to implement it. what it entails, i've no idea, but i'll let you know when i figure it out)
- i awoke (slowly) and left for work this morning, per usual, but it was a GORGEOUS morning. it had stormed last night (winds a blowin', rain a poundin'...you get the idea) and this morning i witnessed the vestiges of that storm. dark-ish clouds over the mountains in the east, spotty clouds in the west, clearing to sunshine. everything was clean (looking and smelling) and all i could think of was: "i bet this is what it looked like after the flood" (i'm weird, i know). i couldn't help but smile on my way into work this morning, despite the lingering cold i was feeling and the fact that it is a monday
- my co-worker got me a donut today. i love donuts :)
- paige and i had a nice little gossip sesh at v.s. this afternoon during her shift. it was quite enjoyable.
- fhe was...meh, okay. but it's always nice to see familiar faces (and i'm slowly starting to KNOW people in my ward! aka, i can say hi when we're at social gatherings! that's always a plus)
- pumpkin carving party wednesday! i love pumpkins. i love carving pumpkins. and i love friends. that's like, TRIPLE BONUS.
- yesterday at church, met a second attractive boy. yay!
downs:
- found out yesterday that the FIRST attractive guy in my ward got engaged this weekend. my heart broke a little. tears welled in my eyes. luckily paige knew my pain and ached with me.
- paige also informed me today that she's moving back to CA in december.
- while at fhe, found out that the new hottie on my radar was in fact dating someone. boo.hoo. story of my life.
- still feeling slightly sickish, though not as bad as friday, so i guess that's a plus.
- still do not know which costume to wear to which event. i've got 3 potential costumes, and 3, maybe 4 events: ward fhe halloween bowling, work halloween party, westminster ward/institute party/dance (that maybe isn't my ward, but i'm maybe still planning on going. hotties! that's my only motivation. that and i get to dress up. again), tri-stake halloween dance. and here are my costume ideas:
- flapper
- jane from tarzan/safari girl
- cruella de vil (guys, i found the most perfect dress at d.i. and maaaaybe i already have a fur coat...)
- i could also do: 80s dancer, football player, rufio
i'm thinking i'll have to look HOT for the dance, so i'll probs have to go with the flapper (too risque for church? oh well) i could do jane for the bowling night (more movement in the legs that way anyway) and then cruella for work? guys, i just don't know! help? suggestions? i for realsies have to do cruella, the outfit is just too perf.
luckily, i've still got the rest of the week to go. maybe i'll find my e.c. at the store tomorrow when i pick up my pumpkin(s) (i may or may not pick up more than one...) and luckily, my ups alwaysssss outweigh my downs, so that's good, right?
