guys, i've been a little MIA from the blogosphere. my apologies.
i took off for the ever favorite provo for labor day weekend (i know what you're thinking: kayla, you couldn't think of any cooler place to go for the 3 day weekend? my answer to that is: nothing that i could afford)
i spent the weekend at abby's place. we spent friday night watching Imagine Dragons in downtown provo and then watched movies on netflix. it was a pretty relaxing weekend, though i didn't see very many friends.
probably because i never know who's around anymore (and probably because no one really cares when i'm back in town anyway)
we got to go to scott and austin's ward sunday, which was quite the adventure. and the experience. i just love those guys.
then my family came! little kiks started school at LDSBC today, so the fam damily came to move her in. we walked around center street checking out the latin festival, hit up jdawgs, blickenstaff, and then stopped in lehi and ikea before finally making it back to salt lake. never thought a typically hour commute would take us 7 to complete.
anyway, we moved a bunch of my stuff into my apartment, my family set up beds (aka blankets on the floor) and we crashed for the night. i had to work the next day, but they had fun exploring the parts of the city that they knew.
when i got home we headed up the road to north salt lake to visit my mom's old friend natalie, with whom she'd lived in high school.
she and her family are great. like seriously great.
kiana and i might not have immediate family nearby, but natalie and hers are near enough to that that i think we'll be okay. we ended up staying way later than planned, so by the time we got home we crashed again.
wednesday morning we had to move kiana's stuff into her apartment (but she couldn't live there yet). so i took the morning off and helped them out. and then, the rest of them were on the road. such a short trip! but it was great seeing them, and i loved being able to show them my new place.
the only black spot of the weekend was when i hurt my back. don't ask me how, all i know is i got up from my chair at work and felt a sharp stab in my lower back, similar to the pain i felt my senior year in dance. guys, if you knew me then, that was a big deal. 4 months of therapy. (or something like that...)
anyway, i dealt with the pain for a couple days, but by thursday, it was pretty bad. i was walking around like an old lady. so i decided to cave and call a chiropractor. i ended up there that afternoon and oh man, was i relieved. i immediately felt better. and oh man, did i luck out with my chiropractor. sometimes you can get ones that just make things worse, this one did not.
and it didn't hurt that he's nice to look at ;) (and un-married to boot! and only 30! and he always calls me "young lady" (he's from the midwest...) guys, i may have found my E.C. in my chiro. nbd)
anyway, i won't bore you all with my obsession with my chiropractor (that's for another day)
kiana ran some errands after my appointment and then met up with my friend greg at mo' bettah steaks, this awesome hawaiian bbq place where we discussed his mission and the upcoming usc/utah game (ha! go trojans!)
it was great to see him again, and one last time before he takes off for FLORIDA.
saturday was spent in north salt lake again. one of natalie's daughters, jodie, was getting baptized, so we decided to celebrate with her. what we thought would only be a couple hours turned into all.day. and i mean ALL DAY. we even ran errands with them. and then ended up at chili's for a 4 hour dinner (plus two football games) nbd, right? we only came home at 9:30 that night. it's fine.
phew. seriously, can you blame me for not really blogging much as of late? i even had to {gasp} grocery shop yesterday because kiana needed food for today (she spent the night at her place last night) and i was almost out of stuff SLASH i needed to make cinnamon bars for Home Evening tonight.
i'll try to keep this thing more updated, but i honestly wouldn't count on it. (especially since i've taken ZERO pics all month.)
just wait for the update on my chiro. seriously guys. BABE. and i've only got 5 more sessions with him (unless my back decides to freak out on me again...)
oh! and kiana and i have decided to try out for the MoTab's christmas concert dance section this year! wish us luck! (and don't tell my chiro i'm dancing again, especially in the middle of him fixing me. i don't think he'd be too pleased with me)
