i've become a recluse

i don't know if it's because i'm moving in two weeks, or because i feel like everyone has kind of written me off because i'm moving, but i've become a massive recluse.
i wake up, go to work, come home and lounge in front of the television all night.
maybe subconsciously i'm trying to get in as much tv time as i can, because soon enough, i won't have cable (or internet, but that's a whole other issue)
maybe i don't feel comfortable enough to call people to do something (maybe i can't think of anything better to do than to watch tv/blog/browse pinterest)
maybe i feel like whenever i try to plan something it never works out, so i've just given up on trying.
maybe i'm preparing myself for the true recluse life i'll be living once i'm in salt lake (i'll know literally NO one near me. how's that for starting over?)
my only social activity tonight was softball, and people cancelled that because of the rain (which stopped right before we planned to play anyway...and i'm all for playing softball in the rain, i'm just saying)
i was banking on that to get me out of the house, to get me to be social.
when that didn't happen, i lost track of time (and subsequently missed the first hour of SYTYCD) and all of a sudden it's 9 pm and i haven't done anything of of import.

as i'm contemplating these more frequent occurrences of reclusiveness, i realize i'm boring. and i hope i can find things for my brother and i to do when he stays with me next week. (i kind of wish i were still in school, to show him a college experience, get him excited about BYU, about attending school here, but alas i am not, and as such, i am forced to show him how boring being an adult is. boo)

  1. oh i know this feeling. i'm at home and i've still managed to basically check out of life. i keep telling my family that i'm planning on moving to salt lake and living in my car... because i'm inherently unemployable. but while i'm there we can hang out. i'll have a TV...
