now this isn't the hardest thing i've done, but confronting someone is pretty hard, and for me, it tends to backfire. (i'm a fixer. remind me to tell you about that one of these days)
tonight i confronted someone (not harshly or meanly, just to clarify some things and clear the air) and for once, it worked out. it was obviously the right decision to get things out in the open, rather than let things be and work themselves out (which tends to lead to more tension and unanswered questions).
will things be perfect? probably not. nothing ever is.
but at least we've overcome that hurdle and can move toward being "normal" (such a relative term)
it's times like these that i'm glad i follow my gut instinct (which has gone through so much, that i've actually learned to trust it for the most part) instead of listening to others' opinions and doubts.
i should've learned that lesson two years ago, when a friend once told me to stop caring what everyone else thought about me and my decisions and to do what i felt was right. she was (and is) one smart friend.
(p.s. how many cliches and parentheses can i use in a post? a lot, apparently)

Yay! I'm glad it worked out!
