top 8-sytycd

so i failed to post last week. why? i left my laptop at work :( but i still cannot believe the AWESOMENESS of alex's hip hop with twitch. BLEW. MY. MIND. i'm pretty sure i've watched it twenty plus times.

let's see how this week compares. especially with only 2 girls left and ALL 6 guys remaining. so strange!
they better bring in some of our male all-stars, otherwise i'd be pissed.

two pieces?! yay! double the pleasure. double the fun!
ooooh right. all star AND a competitor. i remember now...

i KNEW there was one less guy! poor alex! BAH! it's a good thing he's winning the whole thing. but he CAN'T be hurt!!! oh no. nigel you cannot let him leave!

LAUREN with pasha in cha cha.
"telephone"
way good cha cha from lauren. she hit everything, but the song did not match the dance at all. "murderation" thanks for the new word mia, i like it.

JOSE with lauren in a mandy moore contemporary.
"never tear us apart"
that was ALL lauren. he always has a great connection with his partner but that was all for her. he didn't really do anything but support her and walk around the stage. i really don't think he should be on the show anymore, he gets easy dances and isn't judged for his lack of skills.

KENT with comfort in a dave scott hip hop.
"You're not my girl"
uh oh. this will not be as good as alex's last week...ok not a failure but, not great. still had that jazz face. and definitely not clean. nigel was right, it's softer than normal hip hop, which helped kent a bit.

ADECHIKE with courtney in a mandy moore jazz.
"Dinah washington"
the name of that song was so long! ha. i liked it. he played it well, connected with her well, but i feel like most of the pieces lately are more geared towards performance than skill. i want to see technique and skills. i want to see DANCE.

#2 Bollywood with {alex}
nice work adechike! he did such a good job! and to do the part that alex was supposed to do with those toe touches! crazy good!

BILLY with (surprise) Katie in a spencer liff broadway.
"cats"
that jacket collar thing made him look like his shoulders were up and hunched the whole time. i thought he did a really great job though, but there was not really a connection with his partner (maybe there wasn't supposed to be though). "fabulousish" another great word from mia michaels. ha.

ASHLEY with dominic in a nappytabs hip hop.
"how low"
i didn't really see a lot of rebound from ashley, but i have to say i think she's the top girl (yes, out of 2). i feel like it could have been harder though. but she was able to stand on her own.

ROBERT with kathryn in a jazz
"Sinking feeling"
i loved the idea of it, but oh boy, it wasn't as clean as it should've been, they missed their hand holds! i think robert is weird enough that it works for him or rather he worked for it. he's got character and is fun and very technically fantastic.

KENT and LAUREN in travis {!!} contemporary.
"collide acoustic version"
they're in love! gah! i don't know how i feel about this.
that was so pretty and great. there was some cleanliness issues, but i really liked that. plus. i really love that song. adam hit it on the head. i felt awkward about taking a sneak peek into their little love affair.

ROBERT and ASHLEY in a quickstep.
"man with the hex"
uh oh, dance of death. it looked like robert was counting at parts, and when traveling he picked his feet up too much. it should be quick but smooth at the same time. pointed feet were great though and he supported her wonderfully. she did it fairly well, but it's such a difficult dance to get through.

JOSE and BILLY in an african jazz.
not my fave. that's all i have to say.
