We watched this and other videos at FHE last night and it reiterated again, the truthfulness of the Gospel, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which I am a member.
You cannot deny the Spirit that is felt when witnessing this testimony of an apostle of God, nor the truth that he states.
If this was all false, if Joseph Smith was indeed a scam artist and "made up" the Book of Mormon, then during his testimony, Elder Holland should have been struck down for speaking such blasphemies. He was not.
It would have been IMPOSSIBLE for a man with nothing more than a third grade education to "write" the Book of Mormon. It would have been impossible for anyone with greater education to "write" the Book of Mormon. No, Joseph translated plates with the help and guidance of the Spirit.
And Joseph Smith ended up dying for what he believed in. Even in the face of death he did not and would not deny his testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel, of the Book of Mormon. He could have, in order to save his life, said that it was all a lie, that he had made it all up and led hundreds of Saints astray, but he did not. Anyone that says that Joseph Smith was a false prophet would be incorrect. No man would die for something that was not actually true.
The Book of Mormon is the record of the people on the Americas before, during and after Christ's time.
How could a God that loved all of His children, not provide a way for them all to hear His message? The Book of Mormon IS that message. It works so perfectly with the Bible, it's blasphemy to say that it is false.
All you have to do is read it.
If it is false, then 13 million people are wrong, but at least we are living the way Christ would--giving service to our fellowman, preparing for His second coming, being righteous in the way we know how, being good people.
